GLENN HUGHES: New Album Is Outselling 'Soul Mover'

June 25, 2006

Legendary vocalist/bassist Glenn Hughes (DEEP PURPLE, BLACK SABBATH) has posted the following message on his official web site:

"First I want to thank my fans in Australia and all my business associates who made [the recent short acoustic tour of Australia] possible. There is definatley a buzz going on over there and I really believe 'Music for the Divine' [Hughes' new album] will do really well there.

"We are setting up a tour in January 2007. I will work Australia as I believe people really 'get' Glenn Hughes over there.

"The new CD is now outselling 'Soul Mover', and to be on the charts, especially in the U.K., is beautiful. A lot of hard work has been put into this album.

"I am now in full promotion groove.

"The music on this album is designed for my self and my fans AND for a wider audience and the demographic that is buying this album is a younger audience.

"I really want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. I will be seeing you on tour in Europe soon!"

"Music for the Divine" is available on Frontiers Records. The CD was recorded in Chad Smith's (RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS) house in Los Angeles and again features Smith on drums and longtime Glenn Hughes collaborator JJ Marsh on guitar. Also featured are RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS guitarist John Frusciante and Mark Killian, who has provided the string arrangements and keyboards.
